I heard that pantene prov shampoo causes hair loss!I s it true?

I want to know from your experience if pantene prov shampoo cause hairloss?I have heard that Pantene contains wax,and many other chemicals that damage ouy hair, using always it.Is it true?Because my boyfriend has thin hair and he wants to start using it?What to recomend him.To use or not to use?I heard that pantene prov shampoo causes hair loss!I s it true?
I hpe not!!!!! a lot of hair does come out in wash but that's just me!!!!! and I always seem to have plenty left on my head!!!!!!I heard that pantene prov shampoo causes hair loss!I s it true?
It does contain a kind of wax, but it doesn't cause hair loss. If your boyfriend has thin hair, he might want to try a volumizing shampoo like Full and Thick by Pantene.
i have been using it for ten years nothing wrong with my hair i think if that was true it would have been taken off the market by now.
maybe pantene doesnt suit his hair..thats quite possible.never use a particular shampoo for too long.ur hair will get used to the formula and it wont help..ask him to try a herbal shampoo..or clairol herbal essences,garnier,sunsilk,anything..avoid pantene if u r not too sure..loreal is good too..ask him to visit a salon n they will recommend a good shampoo for his hair type..
I dont think so. I been using pantene for like years now.... and i still have my hair lol matter of fact its past my waist now.
I've never heard of it causing hair loss but I do know it contains silicones, wax, and way too much protein (yes too much protein is bad for hair) Pantene is loaded with so mcuh crap you can't even read the ingredients! People who claim to use the same shampoo for 5 or 10 years are not your best sources simply because anyone who really knows about hair knows that we shouyld be switching shampoos every three months. Sometimes we get so into the habit of things we dont look around to see that there are better shampoos out there. Garnier Fructis is a great pantene alternative in that it contains so manyt natural oils and fruit extracts that are really good for your hair. Cocoa butter oil, avacado oil, and shea butter oil are only a few of the ingredients. Pantene claims to be loaded with its pro-vitamin formula..Well, what is that exactly???
it depends on ur hair type it suits sum 1 and not 2 d oder so change it now if u hav noticed it
That is totally untrue. I have used it for the last 5 years, and I have very thick hair. (sometimes I wish it WAS thinner lol). Tell him to use the one for volume, my husband has the same problem and it helps.

Shampoo/conditioners that don't cause hair loss?

what brand of shampoo and conditioner can i find at any local walmart or target that won't make my hair fall out? i've been losing ALOTTT of hair lately and i searched it online and found out it may be because i've been using pantene pro-v. so are there any good shampoos and conditioners outt there that won't make my hair fall out? i have really long hair almost to my butt and it looks weird if its long and too thin. help please!!!Shampoo/conditioners that don't cause hair loss?
uhh yeah they do actually why dont you research it a little before you go throwing words of reject around there chief. detergant( soap )is a double sided molecule which is why it can bind to oil and water. hence drying up your hair. when you dont have hydrated hair it drys up and cracks. thats one of the main reasons people get split ENDS because they are the dryest part of the hair. conditioner doesnt do much believe it or not. it doesnt cause your body to produce more vitamins or anything it basically saturates your hair with essentials and once you wash it away the onlything that is left is MINERAL OIL.(with some vitamin deposite) hence silky smooth. however, your hair doesnt absorb ANYTHING through hair. it is DEAD. NOT LIVING , and what the root and folicle head absorb isnt nearly enough to do anyting for your hair. conditioner is a scam. consulting your doctor is the best way to go but completely unneccesary because there is no such thing as a shampoo that wont make your hair fall outShampoo/conditioners that don't cause hair loss?
I'm sorry you are having this problem. I wish I could give you a thumbs up on any drug store brand. The truth is; most inexpensive shampoo's contain strong detergents, that is why they create so much foam. These detergents are not good for any ones hair, a good rule of thumb; the less they cost the more detergents, alcohol and harmful ingredients they contain, so avoid them.

I would suggest you find a salon in your area that carries Nioxin products, they will help a ton. Also make sure you are taking a good multivitamin everyday. Don't fall into the trap buying vitamins for hair growth, they are an expensive scam. You will get more for your money with even a generic multivitamin. They carry an excellent one at Costco. Also drink plenty of water.

You should avoid all chemical treatments; tints, bleaches, chemical straighteners, perms etc. And always make sure to use a protective balm on your hair before you use a blow dryer, straightening or curling iron.

If you don't see improvement you really need to see a dermatologist.

Good Luck!
Hi there, well for starters i am really big on hair growth as well as good inexpensive products for healthy hair. Lets just say im a product junkie who had to do research and try different products to find the best ones. But i think you should try products that are sulfate free and have no harsh chemicals. Look for a shampoo or conditioner with more natural products in it such as natural extracts like coconut, aloe vera, jojoba, soybean, rosemary which all helps healthy hair grow and keeps it from shedding, Not sure of your ethnicity but these products are good for ethnic hair and they are in some non ethnic hair products...and yes certain shampoos and conditioners can make your hair fall out due to harsh chemicals. But my recommendation is Bio Infusion shampoo and conditioner and they are very light weight, not oily or thick and greasy. They make your hair soft and bouncy with lots of volume and it keeps hair from shedding and breakage due to natural products. You can find it at your local Walgreen's and not expensive at all. I hope this helped and good luck!
Shampoo and conditioners with no silicone in it. Read the ingredients and make sure nothing in the ingredients ends with the word ';cone';. These are very drying to just about any hair types.
shampoo and conditioner don't make you hair fall out! Main contributors to women loosing hair is birth control and post pregnancy. You can ask you primary doctor for help And they can help with hair lost
Aussie. Herbal Essences. Both are great.
i love Paul Mitchell products...i have 3 different shampoos and conditioners by them and tons of their products...they have great stuff.

Can my hair loss be caused by Head & Shoulders Shampoo?

I hav been using head %26amp; shoulders for about 2 month now. I started using this becuz i had dandruff. It's working on the dandruff really well. Yet, a few weeks later, i got sick and had a fever. After the fever, I hav been losing a lot of hair ever since. This is scaring me a lot. Every time a brush my hands thru my hair, at least 2 pieces come out, and im no even brushing that hard. I tried using the shampoo, Pantene I used to use, but I still list a lot of hair. Can anyone help me and giv me some advice? This is really scaring me.Can my hair loss be caused by Head %26amp; Shoulders Shampoo?
I have never heard of shampoos causing hair loss. Now hair that is abused by over combing when wet, over dryed with blow dryers etc. can make your hair brittle and break off more but not kill the growth center of the hair itself.

Pulling tightly on the hair consistently with hair styles like braids, corn rows, pig tails etc. can cause damage to the hair follicle itself and cause some permanent hair loss but not over all balding or large bald spots.

There are other causes of hair loss that are hereditary also.....look in your family and see if there is a pattern of thin hair or baldness that runs in your family.

I hope that this helped. Can my hair loss be caused by Head %26amp; Shoulders Shampoo?
I was in the same situation, i am 14, believe me, if u r a teenager i think there is nothing to worry about, thats what the doctor said, it is normal, and yes i think head and shoulders may have a part in it!, i think it is too strong for hair to manage, especially young hair lyk mine, if u live in england u would be familar with the soap brand/shop LUSH, my mum bought me a hormonal hair soap shampoo from there calles NEW, its pink and contains natural things lyk cineamon, which is the stronest, i hve been using it for 3'4 months now and believe it does work gradually

dont be scared though lol

hope i helped
The hair loss may be if you use a lot of heat on your hair or if you dye your hair regulary
you losing your hair is regular. You actually lose about 150 a day. its natural and supposed to happen. calm down..breath..

And not talking showers daily can make it seem like your losing a lot in one time but its nothing to stress over.
Probably not from the shampoo. If you get very sick, your hair can thin out. Try to make sure you are eating right and avoiding things that can damage your hair. (dyes, bleach, excessive heat, etc.) You lose hair every day, without noticing it. If it doesn't get better, and you are still concerned, you may want to ask your doctor about it.
Hair loss is natural in most people. I don't know how old you are, so forgive me, I don't mean to offend you. If you are middle aged, it is natural for your hair to thinnen out.

If you are a teen it is natural due to hormone levels.

If it is a new shampoo, you may just be adjusting to it.

Also, if your hair is thick, it is natural for your hair to become quite brittle if it needs cutting. I personally find that I loose LOTS when straightening, even though I use heat protection, and then some when I brush it.

It's completly natural to loose your hair, your body is getting rid of the unneeded things..

If you stress over it, you will loose more, as stress distrupts your hormone levels, which cause hair loss and also acne problems.

If you are really worried, see a hairdresser, or use a hair endurance shampoo... I know that H%26amp;S actually does an anti dandruff hair endurance?

Hope this helps, Ginger x

What could cause an extreme loss of hair in a 15 year old girl? Could it be from her shampoo?

She is 15...

it is urgent...

when she runs her fingers through her hair she gets like half a dozen hairs that come off. What could cause an extreme loss of hair in a 15 year old girl? Could it be from her shampoo?
it sounds as if she has telogen effluvium, for which there may be several causes (not shampoo, though). Or, she may have the generalized form of alopecia areata. It is best if she goes to her dermatologist, as she'll need a work up to see if there's a medical cause for it, that can be treated. What could cause an extreme loss of hair in a 15 year old girl? Could it be from her shampoo?
cancer doesnt cause hairloss, treatment for cancer does.

Six hairs doesnt seem that extreme. It is normal to lose 20-50 strands of hair per day. If you are losing over 100 strands per day THEN it indicates hair loss and you should see a doctor. If she really was losing a lot of hair I would say check to make sure shes getting a proper diet and right amount of vitamins.

I just ran my fingers once through the left side of my head, and five hairs came off. Six on the other side.

You have over 100,000 hair folicles on your head. If you only lost a dozen hairs a day it would take you 22 years to go bald if you completely stopped growing hair.

Dont panic!
No, I doubt it's the shampoo. It's normal to shed some hair. I read that somewhere. But if she's losing what she thinks is a lot, maybe it could be a nutritional deficiency or something. Maybe she should try taking vitamins to see if that helps.
i had a friend that lost hair and problems with your thyroid can make you lose hair if they are over or under active.

my friend also lost alot of weight through this too but can be the opposite and you can gain weight
Causes could be lack of proper diet, lack of vitamins from a proper diet or some sort of illness.

It's not the shampoo.

See a doctor. Soon.

  • I've been using very creamy shampoos and is causing some hair loss. How do I solve this?

I've been using shampoos that are quite creamy to give moisture to your hair for a few months now. Then I realize that I've been having a sticky residue of the shampoo stuck on my hair that takes ages to wash off. And now, its causing hair loss and hence some baldness on my head. How do I solve this??I've been using very creamy shampoos and is causing some hair loss. How do I solve this?
    1) Quit using the shampoos!

Use a different shampoo for a week or so, see what happens.

    2) Try taking Saw Palmetto, B-Vitamins, Vitamin C, and most importantly Vitamin A.

If these vitamins don't work, you'll need to try a commercial product.

DHT causes hair loss. The most effective way to stop hair loss is a commercial product. It will be your last resort. The link below can help you out. The product is very well known and used throughout Europe and the US. Check it out!I've been using very creamy shampoos and is causing some hair loss. How do I solve this?
Without us noticing, we lose a certain amount of hair each day. Your hair is part of your identity, so it is never good when you begin losing it. Fortunately, there are some natural remedies you can use to regrow your hair.

    1. Honey and Egg yolk:

Massage into your scalp honey with egg yolk. Leave it in your hair for thirty minutes and then rinse.

    2. Almond Oil:

Two to three times a day massage almond oil into your scalp, this has been proven to stop further hair loss.

    3. Apple Cider Vinegar and Sage Tea:

When taking a shower, rinse your hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and sage tea to help your hair grow.

    4. Lime Seed and Black Pepper:

Grind an equal portion of lime seeds and black pepper in some water and apply it to your scalp regularly.

    5. Aloe Vera And Herbal Powder Triphala:

For about three to six months apply a mixture of aloe vera and herbal powder triphala to your hair, this will help you to grow new hair.

    6. Mustard Oil;

Boil 1cup mustard oil with 4 tablespoons henna leaves. Filter the mixture and bottle it. Massage the mixture on your scalp regularly.

    7. Fenugreek Seeds:

Make a paste by grinding Fenugreek seeds with water. After you oil your hair, massage the paste on your scalp and leave it for one hour before rinsing it out. Every morning repeat it for a month.

    8. Warm Castar and Almond Oil:

Mix equal amounts of warm castor and almond oil then massage it over your scalp at least once a week.

u can use a shampoo called NIZORAL.....this is a medicated shampoo specially made for dandruff......u can use this and this should take care of the same.

alternatively, u can try using lemons on ur hair.....cut a lemon into 2 halves and rub them on ur scalp....this should take care of it as well (but there is a possibility that ur hair will turn white) with prolongated use.

the best treatment for dandruff is NIZORAL.I've got terrible dandruff that causes itching in scalp and hair loss, can u suggest a remedy/shampoo please?
try this very effective remedy for danadruff

Go get some apple cider vinegar and add 1/4-cup of it to the same amount of warm water and put some of it on your scalp. Cover your head with a towel for half an hour and then get in the shower and rinse it out, thoroughly, to get some much needed relief from the itchiness and scaling of dandruff. You only need to do this once weekly.
so try this...regular trims are a must, about every 7-9 weeks. if its been awhile since you have had a trim then inches may be called for to get to healthy hair. i use vitamin e on fresh washed hair.(its a vitamin that can be purchased where you buy vitamins, cut open capsule, squeeze into hand, rub hands together and apply to hair) dont message into scalp. if you get too much then just rewash it. hair will feel slightly sticky until dry then it will be nice and soft. it tames the frizzies, deep conditions and makes hair grow about three in a month. it takes about a month for the e to kick in. dont brush your hair but maybe once a week to message the scalp, i use a wide tooth comb at other times. brushing breaks off hair. i just started biotin vitamins two months ago this sat and notice and big growth spurt from that. biotin is cheap. i also have the biotin shampoo that i got from a vitamin store online. five bucks for a big bottle and a big bottle of E is about 8 bucks. the biotin is about 3 bucks. good luck
Head and Shoulders shampoo and conditioner is good, use it as a regular shampoo also if you wish

    yes
constant shampooing strips the hair of its natural oils and things that make it healthy. In the long run it will lose all the moisture your hair needs to grow. If you have been doing this then the best thing to do is to stop now and talk to a professional hair dresser about your condition and what you can do.
I doubt it. I wash my hair everyday, and its all there. I have thick thick hair... you lose about 100-200 hairs a day, but they are replaced by new ones.
    well i think it depends.

    if u abuse using shampoo

  • Does Loreal shampoos cause hair loss?

please tell me the benefits of loreal shampoos because I`m thinking to use their shampoos, every day.Does Loreal shampoos cause hair loss?
NO, they do not cause hair loss. I have been using L'oreal hair care products as well as other products in the cosmetic line for years and I have never heard of anyone experiencing hair loss. I prefer L'oreal to any other brand even salon brands. If you are unsure, you may be able to contact L'oreal consultants through their website and address your concerns directly with them.Does Loreal shampoos cause hair loss?
I don't think they necessarily cause hair loss. If it causes damage to your hair it may cause it to break off or your ends to split. Breakage can appear to be hair loss. Honestly the best products to use are professional products. The drug store and grocery store products are not pH balanced where as the professional ones are.

    Yes!!

I was worried about this exact same problem, and I never have used selsun blue because my dad used it and suffered hair loss.

use Aveda, the Scalp Remedy kind.

I went to an expensive hair salon in New york and they offered this to me. I used the shampoo and conditioner, and i wasn't sure about it, but it really works well.

After I shampoo/condition, and i'm done showering, I use another solution also by aveda scalp remedy; it's called:

Aveda scalp remedy dandruff solution spray.

I now no longer have dandruff, and I don't always have to wear hats or tie back my hair so that no one sees it!

My hair is actually softer now, and it comes out thicker; it doesnt fall out as easily because this shampoo not only takes away dandruff, but it enhances your roots!

    Good luck!

PS: aveda is a bit pricey but it works very well,i'll assure you that.
it's more so the stripping that those two shampoos (selsum and h%26amp;s) may cause. Im guess you want body, volume, and strength, right? Garnier Frutis is save on all hair... i use the length and strengthing one and it works well. the more you use it the stronger/thicker your hair will be. also it might not be bad to get a deep conditioning treatment done at a salon, (usually its like 25 bucks) - do that once a month or every two months.

    just a suggestion
i know one, head and shoulders. they are good in dandruff free shampoos. and they've been at it for centuries. its really a good shampoo. and not expensive.

What's in Head & Shoulder Shampoo that cause hair loss?

I am in my early 20s and also in good health. I have been using head %26amp; shoulder shampoo since around age 13. I use it every time I wash my hair. Recently I notice that comparing my hair back when I was in a single digit age vs. now, my hair is now 3/4 less and also thinner (It use to be thick). After using it long term, I also notice that it doesn't get rid of dandruff well in comparison to the first time I use it back in the day. I know quite a few individuals who uses head %26amp; shoulder shampoo and also compliant about hair loss. To make a change, I am planning on changing the shampoo. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am thinking about David Babaii for Wildaid, Giovanni, Bumble %26amp; Bumble Shampoo...but not sure if they are good enough though. What's in Head %26amp; Shoulder Shampoo that cause hair loss?
well i use hello hydration (herbal essensces) and everyone says my hair is so pretty and soft! plus, it doesn't cause hair loss. it eeps my hair hydrated, even out here in the dry australian terrain! if you want, you could also use tresemme anti breakage shampoo. i used that a while back, and it worked pretty well. it smelled good, too! hope i helped!!

ps. if you want an anti-dandruff shampoo, try t-gel. it worked for me when i thoguht i had dandruff! (turns out i had dry scalp...lol!) you could also rinse with vinegar. the acids in that will destroy dandruff, which is actually a fungus! head and shoulders is really harsh, which is why i use a gentler shampoo. if all else fails, go to the doctor, and get a stronger shampoo from them, or ask your salon what they recommend. :)What's in Head %26amp; Shoulder Shampoo that cause hair loss?
    hi

heads %26amp; shoulders will not cause hair loss

but i dont use heads %26amp; shoulders i causes more dandruff to your hair.

    use herbal essence and conditioner

they work great wonders to your hair and it wont cause you hair loss it keeps it nice and strong and healthy

by the way im a teen so i look after my hair A LOT!
Head and Shoulders does not cause hair loss. If you are looking for something to help with dandruff or dry itchy scalp, the absolute best thing you can do is switch out anti-dandruff shampoos. Pay attention to the active ingredients and get two, three or four different ones and rotate them out. Every other day just use your other shampoos that you like or prefer. For example use Head and Shoulders, Neutragena T-Gel, Nizoral, and Paul Mitchell Tea Tree...each of those have different active ingredients and it really is better for your scalp. Then in between days you can use your favorite shampoos. I have psoriasis on my scalp and ears and I had the same complaint to my dermatologist that the head and shoulders wasn't working and this is what he suggested I do and it works quite well.

Does shampoo-ing your hair too much cause hair loss problem?

I wash my hair with shampoo once everyday, I got a feeling that i might be losing hair. I feel that it might be cause by over-stress or washing too much of hair, i dont know. So I ask ^^Does shampoo-ing your hair too much cause hair loss problem?
shampooing your hair everyday will strip your hair of its natural oils which will cause your hair to dry out. if your hair dries out too much, it could lead to breakage. as far as your hair actually falling out, thats probably from stress. Does shampoo-ing your hair too much cause hair loss problem?
yeh, its best to wash it every other day. e,g, one day but not the next, but then the next day, like :

My hair has been fallling out, to the excess, since March 1---What shampoos or products are causing this? What hair products have you had bad experiences? Or heard of bad experiences?Shampoo/products..causing hair loss?
Alot of times it's stress or lack of proper nutrition that makes a person's hair fall out. If I were you I would consult your doctor because I hate to say it but I don't believe that shampoo is making your hair fall out. The shampoo companies could not make products that do that. I had a friend who was going through the same thing and she was only 16 but she saw her doctor and now she's fine. Good luck!Shampoo/products..causing hair loss?
Might not be the products. Could be alopecia. I would go to a trichologist or see your GP who can recommend one for a definite diagosis.
Its not the products, it you.

Don't worry too much, because that might make you lose some hairs!

    I'm just kidding.

year ago I suffered from hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

Does head and shoulders shampoo contain ingredients to cause hair loss?

which shampoos cause hair loss or thinning hair?Does head and shoulders shampoo contain ingredients to cause hair loss?
'; I too have had that happen. I used Head %26amp; Shoulders for almost 8 years and my hair on top thinned out along with the rest of my hair, to the point I was going bald it seemed.

Then I stopped using it and the thickness returned along the sides and back, but the top near the forehead and crown has still not recovered and was the most affected.

I鈥檝e heard of other stories as well of people losing hair to Head %26amp; Shoulders, including my barber (back in the 60s when they had an industrial strength formula for dandruff and his hair never grew back) and my ex-g/f鈥檚 dad started losing his hair because of it, but he only used it for 3 years and it eventually grew back over the course of a year or so.

    I suggest stopping use of the shampoo, or if you are using it daily, use it once a week instead like you would any other medical dandruff shampoo. Head %26amp; Shoulders is definitely not for daily use.';

Steer clear from the chemical shampoos, hair loss is a minor side effect compared to some of the others that can occur. No chemical head lice treatment is legally allowed to be labeled as 'safe' as every insecticide is a poison. Every pesticide preparation has the potential to do serious damage depending on the individual.

The ONLY safe way to get rid of head lice permanently is to use a totally natural alternative to the chemical preparations then use prevention methods such as hairspray and tea tree oil mixed with water in a spray bottle every day to ensure they never return.

Remedies containing Neem Oil are known to be highly effective as Neem interrupts the growth and reproduction of the head louse. Neem鈥檚 insecticidal properties are widely recognized now and the oil is commonly available at your local health food store.

An allergic reaction to any constituent in shampoo or hair products can cause hair loss. Shampoos are designed to be as safe as possible, although there is always someone who will react to them. Caustic hair dyes, straighteners, and other products can certainly cause inflammation of the scalp and result in hair loss.

Is Head & Shoulders shampoo causing hair loss?

I started using Head %26amp; Shoulders shampoo last year. After a few months on H%26amp;S I noticed a small bald spot I had on the top of my head towards the back seemed a little larger, but dismissed it for just being the way the hair was pushed. However, lately when I switched to a new Head %26amp; Shoulders formula, my hair started rapidly thinning to the point where theres a line of almost baldness with the hair going in either direction the way it grows on the crown of my head.

After some research online, it seems like others are reporting this issue as well including teenagers and its all occurring on the same part of the head.

I'm 21 with thick hair and absolutely no Male Pattern Baldness in the family. The fact that this is happening so rapidly has left me wondering whether or not it actually is MPB or if it's a reaction to the shampoo that only a small number of people get.

Information on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Is Head %26amp; Shoulders shampoo causing hair loss?
The shampoo could create a problem but there are also many other possibilities. There are many other reasons you can lose your hair. Some of the causes of baldness may represent serious health problems. That's why it's important to talk about hair loss with a physician.

Poor nutrition can lead to hair loss as can fad diets and eating disorders such as anorexia. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss. Other reasons can include thyroid problems and a form of lupus.

The medical opinion concerning the role of emotional stress in balding is mixed.

I've used it all my life and had no hair loss. Maybe it does. You should write a book about it and get rich! I'd buy it!
Well, I'm 17 with a short military butch cut; but not too short since it's winter (I'd say about an inch long from the scalp; and I comb it down) and I use head and shoulders and have been for 2+ years. I've never had the problem you're describing; but a hair stylist told me once a little trick to avoid Dandruff plus get easy hair to work with that's soft; that's what I've been doing for over a year.

I shower every morning, but on Monday mornings I always use Head and Shoulders. The rest of the week I use regular shampoo. It keeps the dandruff away and my hair is perfect. One time I got a few flakes on the back of my jacket so I used Head %26amp; Shoulders on Tuesday and Wednsday and it went right away.

    I highly suggest this method.

Plus; head and shoulders is a bit pricey, so it cuts down on the costs a bit. ;)
I would simply switch products. if a trend is happening amongst other people in your age there must be a problem then...

check the bottle for a 1800 number, call them a nag. then throw away the bottle right away lol.

Just curious if any other guys have noticed thinning hair since using T-Gel.T-Gel shampoo causing hair loss??
most of hair lose is genetic, but there are thing you can do to slow the process. Take a vitamin that works, and get good shampoo. It sounds stupid but almost all the shampoo on the market contain tons of chemicals most have the same chemical compound as engin degreeser. DHT as you get older will cause your hair to fall out faster. Saw Palmetto fights DHT that will cause hair loss to slow or stop.

The website below sells shampoo and conditioner with Saw Palmetto, called Botanical Vitamin shampoo and conditioner. If you are using t-gel you probably have scapl issues, this shampoo also helps with that, more than any other shampoo that I have used before.

If you're talking about losing a little hair while in the shower, it's normal. You lose roughly 50 to 100 hairs. Much more visible in the shower.

If you're pulling CHUNKS, I don't mean strands, I mean CHUNKS, out, then something is not right.

i dont think so. i do that too. shampooing strips your hair of everything, including the good stuff. i dont think it makes your hair dry which causes your scalp to make more oil so thats what causes oily hair.

It shouldn't - it is normal to lose some hair every day beause it dies off and is shed.

    Dandruff shampoo causing hair loss?

I posted a question about hair loss earlier, and an answerer told me that it was because I was using an anti-dandruff shampoo. I feel like the hair loss hasn't really changed. What can I do about it? Around two weeks ago, I switched to a deep cleaning, non-medicated shampoo, but I don't know if that's affecting it at all. How long could it take? Any advice helps. Thanks.Dandruff shampoo causing hair loss?
Usually hairloss is an internal problem not an external problem. It can be caused by hormones, genetics, stress, and malnutrition. Once the follicle starts to let go of the hair you have a certain amount of years to try to gain it back before it becomes permanent. unfortunately you have to attack the problem with a fury. The best prevention is to stop it before it starts. And try to hang on to the hair you have. As a hairdresser I have learned the most amazing website on the net for hairloss is www.hairlosstalk.com. Anything and everything you could possibly want to know is on there. You'll have to do alot of reading but it is worth it. Good Luck.Dandruff shampoo causing hair loss?

    FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall a lot? Don't worry, you're not alone. Millions of people from all around the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are:

    Tension

    Too much work

    Illness

    Poor diet

    Over-exposure to the sun

    Perming

    Amateur bleaching

Too frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants

Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil.

COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month ¡V if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

    Quick Hair Care Conditioner

Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

    Honey Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

    Alcohol Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours

    ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

    Wide-toothed comb

Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

    Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

    Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

    Egg

Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.

Can a specific type of Selsun Blue Shampoo cause hair loss?

The active ingredient is supposed to impede yeast growth that causes scalp infections. Possible side-effects include ';skin irritation, dry skin, oily or dry hair/scalp, or temporary hair loss';, but I don't know if it's tied to a specific type of Selsun Blue. It depends on if you're somehow allergic to its active ingredient or if that ingredient somehow interacts with other medications that you may be taking.

1.Rinse your hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and sage tea this helps hair grow..

    2. A medicine rich in sulfur is also recommended as sulfur plays an important part in the structure of the hair.

    3. Massage with olive oil before going to bed at night and next morning, wash off the hair gently..

    4. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea.Massage well and shampoo.

I doubt it, but just to be safe, try researching the ingredients on the list of your shampoo.

Does too much shampoo cause hair loss?

Does using too much shampoo cause hair loss? I don't think the follicles appreciates all those chemicals trying to penetrate it. It's not what nature intended. Is simply using a water to rinse your hair and a little conditioner advised? I don't think hair needs all that shampoo everyday.Does too much shampoo cause hair loss?
Wash your hair every other day with shampoo and then use conditioner after rinsing out the shampoo. If you need to wash your hair everyday then repeat the process above. Also leave the conditioner in for a little while longer, like while you wash your body or shave. And NO shampoo can NOT cause hair loss! Good luck!Does too much shampoo cause hair loss?
No. If it did the hygene civilazation as we know it would be bald by now. Hair falls off you dont let it ';breathe'; or encourage blood flow. Like my hair is so thick I hate combing it and throw it in a bun most of time so by the end of the week it falls in hair balls. But when I comb it frequently nothing comes out. My partener had a bald spot on the back which I massaged everynight with a soft brush and the hair began growing after 2 months. So there is my theory..tested and approved
no shampooing does NOT make you lose hair.

In fact keeping your hair clean is best. That way you don't get dirt, smoke/smog, 'daily stuff' built up in your hair...and most shampoos are NOT made with chemicals. (if you want something more 'natural' go to a salon and get something to shampoo with.) Conditioner is always good for your hair, but if you don't wash it first, all you're doing is making it 'sticky' for another days dirt....

Could using Head n shoulders shampoo cause hair loss?

I noticed that i started losing alot of hair on top of my scalp,my dandruff is gone if i use the shampoo daily.Im afraid that maybe the chemicals in it are causing this reaction.Anyway i quit using it 3 days ago my dandruff is back now and my hair gets oily so fast at the roots.I been using frutis for the last 3 days, like i said my dandruff is back and my hair is still falling out just not as rapidly. Can someone please recommend a gentle shampoo that treats dandruff and doesn't dry out the hair ?Could using Head n shoulders shampoo cause hair loss?
Yes because Head %26amp; Shoulders contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate (ALS). These are corrosive ingredients and are used in household and commercial cleaners such as car wash soap, engine degreaser, and garage floor cleaners. It is said to attack your hair follicles and interfere with hair growth.

Let me know if this information was helpful! :)Could using Head n shoulders shampoo cause hair loss?
Ahh!!! Don't use head and shoulders every day. Once or twice a week, tops... I wouldn't use fructise, either, go buy a purifying or clarifying shampoo.. This'll get rid of the excess oils in your hair. The reason you're having dandruff is because the excess oils in your hair are irritating your scalp... I had this same problem when I was 16... My hair dresser recommended a shampoo, I think it was redken and it came in a black container, I highly recommend going to your stylist and having them recommend something for hair of your type! Good luck!
i dont think its the shampoo, i think its your hair

are you tying back relaly tight? that could loosen the roots

are you using a lot of chemicals? that could factor in also

dont use any chemicals/styling products for a few days and see how things go

good lucka nd hope i helped!

    ';Cheap'; shampoo causes hair loss?

I once had a stylist tell me that ';cheap'; shampoos like Vo5 and suave contain animal intestine or other products that do make your hair soft, but also clog the folicle causin the hair to fall out. Is it true? or did she just want me to buy the salon stuff?';Cheap'; shampoo causes hair loss?
It's hard to say. But did you know that people that live with oily hair are the least likely to have hair loss. I do realize that guys are way more prone to lose hair than girls when they get older, but still, that's why conditioner is out there and they keep adding more and more stuff to it, like Vitamin E and Aloe, antioxidants, protein, anything that will repair hair, keep the shine, and I don't know what. I shampoo like once a week cuz I have really dry hair. I never condition my hair cuz I use a hair grease that is like half way between pomade and petroleum jelly. It's messy stuff, but it makes my bangs stand up in the front like I like my haircut and keeps my hair shiny and by the end of the day, the greasiness is gone and my hair is soft as angel hair.';Cheap'; shampoo causes hair loss?
lol!!!!!!!!!!!!! the only thing I can think that will make your hair fall out %26amp; is a hair product would be perm products. Other than that, cheap shampoo will just make your hair more kinky %26amp; hard to comb, blow dry, press, etc etc...I've used suave, I'm african american, you can only imagine what that cheap stuff did to my hair lol! I got tired of combing it out...geeze...
well she might even be trying to sell her own products... and as for cheap shampoos yes they can lead to hair loss because of the chemical imbalance...well just see to it that whatever product the salon offers it is certified safe by some recognized organization...
It could. But it mostly Suave where I've heard things about. I've heard that it also makes a certain hormone trigger to make hair less appealing and seem more older.

Perhaps she could be lying to you just so you'd buy her stuff so she'd make some moola. Try using stuff a little but priceyer like in the 5 dollar range. Try stuff yourself:)
Some of the cheaper stuff is harsh on your hair but she was trying to sell product through fear.
I don't think it would make your hair fal out. she is trying to sell products. But, I would not use cheap shampoo like that either. Something in the middle is fine.

I use head and shoulder for years and I have been losing a lot of year. I don't have any health problems or whatever.

Plus; head and shoulders is a bit pricey, so it cuts down on the costs a bit. ;)
I would simply switch products. if a trend is happening amongst other people in your age there must be a problem then...

check the bottle for a 1800 number, call them a nag. then throw away the bottle right away lol.

you may get some free stuff out of it. you never know.

    Suave shampoo causing hair loss?

I normally buy Garnier shampoo But for some reason I just bought this huge bottle of suave anyways.

I鈥檝e been using suave shampoo for about a month I notice that I鈥檓 losing clumps of hair I also used this shampoo on both my cat and dog and they as well are losing lager amounts of hair has anybody had this problem with this product?Suave shampoo causing hair loss?
    1) yes! of course it is possible and can happen!!

    2) never use or try shampoo for humans on pets!!!

    3) anyway as we know hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections, hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago I suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with Aloe Vera, Garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also I used herbal treatment - Provillus (do not use Rogaine - it can cause unwanted hair growth elsewhere on the body)

It is a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair! I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!Suave shampoo causing hair loss?
